Henson Franklyn has always championed home-grown talent, business sustainability and environmental responsibility. Working tirelessly to counteract their ecological impact over the last thirty years, the company have gradually planted up the spaces around their premises with thousands of trees and hedgerows.
Over the past decade, the UK has lost well over 80,000 miles of hedges from the landscape. These hedgerows provide habitat for a myriad of wildlife and beneficial insects. Henson Franklyn believes sincerely in contributing to the broader picture and collectively making a difference.
Being keen adherents in supporting British manufacture and buying local, alongside protecting our British wildlife, it seemed only fitting for the company to join forces with ‘Made in Britain’.
Made in Britain is a fast-growing manufacturing community, united by the use of the registered ‘collective mark’ and a passion for supporting UK industries and offering a leg-up to local independent retailers.
The official collective mark, in case you were wondering, is registered with UKIPO over 30 product classes. The Made in Britain collective mark joins the British manufacturing sector and serves consumers, buyers and specifiers to identify products made in Britain.
However, in joining this Great British initiative, comes great responsibility. Members of Made in Britain must sign and adhere to a stringent code of conduct. The criteria set in this document are to safeguard the reputation of the Made in Britain organisation and to maintain the highest possible attention to quality.
The Made in Britain membership organisation aims to show, wherever possible that products are crafted by our members, in Britain, and are of the highest quality, the best value for money, and are 100% safe for anyone that uses or consumes them.
Tim Henson, Managing Director of Henson Franklyn, championed the partnership,
“When I learnt about the ‘Made in Britain’ organisation, I immediately understood why we needed to be a part of it. For nearly thirty years we have been designing and manufacturing bespoke display and exhibitions items, all made in the UK, and we are proud of our designs and our ability to achieve the unusual. Britain has a great tradition of manufacturing brilliant products, and being part of this organisation enables us to show how we are also proud to make our products in Britain as well’.
Alongside pushing for the highest standards in manufacture, Made in Britain also offers its members support in sales, marketing, exports and PR. This rapidly-growing community of like-minded producers are guardians of British-made goods, UK entrepreneurs, movers, shakers and makers.
The people behind the initiative share a healthy obsession with provenance marketing and the fantastic business stories of their members, some stretching back more than a century. With such an appetite for supporting home-turf talent – it was just a matter of time before Henson Franklyn jumped on board.
